- Instagram will automatically count up to 150 pieces of content shared from the week you activate until the end of the bonus opportunity.
- The more bonus plays or views your content receives, the more you earn.
Breakthrough Bonus
The Breakthrough bonus program is for creators who are new to Facebook or Instagram. Earn money and jumpstart your growth and long-term success on our platforms by applying today.
Accepted creators will immediately be able to earn money across reels, longer videos, photos and text posts through Facebook’s invite-only Content Monetization program – plus earn up to $5,000 in extra Breakthrough bonuses to help you get off the ground during the first 90 days.
You can apply for the Breakthrough bonus at Meta for Creators, and will be notified if your application is accepted.

Bonuses are limited time and invite-only as we build toward a sustainable program.
Am I eligible for a seasonal bonus?
Seasonal bonuses are invite-only for creators in South Korea and the US. Please go to your professional dashboard to check if you have been invited to a bonus.
To be eligible for an invitation, you must meet these minimum qualifications:
- Live in an eligible country where we are testing bonuses. Currently, the seasonal bonus is only available in South Korea and the United States.
- Have a professional account on Instagram (business or creator).
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Meet Partner Monetization Policies.
For the seasonal reels bonus opportunity, you must also have a minimum of 5 million bonus reel views each month for the last 3 calendar months, and have an account that publishes original content.
Am I eligible for the breakthrough bonus?
You can apply for the Breakthrough bonus at Meta for Creators, and will be notified if your application is accepted.
To be eligible to apply, you must:
- Be based in the United States.
- Be 18 years of age or older.
- Have an existing presence on a third party social app that you can link or already have linked during the application process.
- Have or create an Instagram professional account and Facebook Page.
- Not be participating in any other Facebook monetization program.

Set up Seasonal Bonuses on Instagram
- Go to the Instagram app.
- Tap into the professional dashboard at the top of your profile.
- Tap the invitation on your professional dashboard. If you do not see an invitation, you have not been invited to test any bonus opportunities at this time.
- Follow the prompts and tap Activate Bonus. By activating the bonus, you agree to the Instagram Creator Incentives Terms, Instagram Bonuses general program rules, and specific bonus program rules.
- You must add a payout account to receive a bonus payout. Follow these steps to set up your payout account. Without a payout account, you can earn up to $500 per monetization tool, with a maximum of $1,500 across 3 tools. If you haven’t added a payout account within 6 months, you’ll forfeit and waive all rights to receive your earnings.
- You are now ready to begin earning from the bonus you have activated.
Set up the Breakthrough bonus on Instagram
Once you’ve been accepted to the Breakthrough bonus program, you can earn up to $5,000 in Breakthrough bonuses, for a limited time. To earn a Breakthrough bonus, you must:

How are bonuses calculated?
Instagram estimates the approximate bonus based on the number of bonus plays or bonus post views, depending on the bonus opportunity you’ve been invited to.
Breakthrough Bonus
Meta will calculate the bonus based on an evaluation of your social presence. To earn each monthly bonus, you must post 20 reels on Facebook and 10 reels on Instagram within 30 days. These videos must be uploaded directly from each app on 10 separate days and public to be eligible. If you fail to meet requirements for the 30-day period, you can try again next month.
