A smoother video editing workflow in the Edits app

Spending less time on setup means more time on the creative work. These updates make your editing workflow faster and more flexible.

Want to try a different creative direction without starting from scratch? You can now create multiple versions of a single project. Experiment freely without cluttering your projects grid, and switch between versions anytime.

How to access: Tap the project name at the top of the editor, then tap “Manage versions.” From there you can add a new version, rename versions, or switch between them.

Snap and align elements to each other for cleaner, more precise positioning. No more eyeballing whether your text is centered or your stickers line up.

How to access: Drag any element (text, sticker, overlay) on the preview canvas. Alignment guides will appear automatically when your element snaps to another element or to the center of the frame.

Templates just got more powerful. You can now build richer templates with overlays support and the ability to lock specific clips in place. When you lock a clip, it stays put and carries over for anyone who reuses your template.

How to access: When building a template, tap on a clip and select ‘Lock’ to keep it in place for anyone who reuses your template. Add overlays from the Overlay tab in the bottom toolbar.

You can now export videos up to 15 minutes long from Edits. Whether it’s a longer vlog, a tutorial, or a multi-part story, you’re no longer limited to short clips.

How to access: When your edit is done, tap the Export button in the top right. You can now export videos up to 15 minutes long. This feature is currently available on iOS.
