New Ways to Earn: Making Reels Shoppable

Today we're announcing new and improved ways to make your Reels shoppable. With the ability to tag any product in Meta's commerce catalog and even input direct URLs, you can share more of what you love, people can shop your Reels more seamlessly, and you have more ways to earn from your affiliate partnerships.
People want to hear from trusted voices before they buy, and your audience already trusts your taste. The new “Add products” feature gives you a simple, seamless way to turn that trust into income.
How it works
It’s simple to make your Reels shoppable. Before you share your Reel, you’ll see a new Add product option in the Share sheet. From there, you can:
- Paste a product URL (including affiliate links) to a specific item, or
- Search and tag a product from a brand’s catalog
To keep the shopping experience accurate and reliable, any product you add must be part of a business’ existing commerce catalog on Meta so that details like price and availability are up to date. You will have access to a wide selection of items.
A few things to know:
- You can add up to 30 products to a single Reel.
- Products must be individual items (no collections).
- Affiliate links are supported as long as the URL points to a single eligible product in a catalog.
When someone sees something they love in your content, they can tap to shop and go directly to the partner’s app or mobile website to complete their purchase. If you’re eligible, you can earn an affiliate commission. Content with product tags will also show up in Partnership Ads Hub, increasing your visibility to brands.

Adding products to Reels is just the start. Next, you’ll be able to find new affiliate opportunities with Amazon and Shopee directly in Instagram, and we’ll keep building more ways to shop on Instagram—with additional tools and features coming soon.
